Training of persons implementing security controls for air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies other than screening (in accordance with point 11.2.3.10 of the Annex to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998)

Duration: 6 hours

Validity: 2 years

Duration and validity depend on individual national legislative requirements.

Method of Delivery: Training consists of theoretical and practical elements

Learning Objectives: To gain relevant knowledge and skills in order to provide effective security controls for air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies.  Overall protection and transportation requirement awareness training.


Course content:

previous acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, terrorist acts and current threats

relevant legal requirements

objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities of persons implementing security controls in the supply chain

procedures for challenging persons and of circumstances in which persons should be challenged or reported

reporting procedures

prohibited articles

response to the detection of prohibited articles

how prohibited articles may be concealed

protection requirements for air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies

transportation requirements


In addition, where the person holds an airport identification card, course content also includes:

Configuration of the screening checkpoint and the screening process

Access control and relevant screening procedures

Airport identification cards used at the airport

Reporting procedures

Response to security related incidents

Training of persons implementing screening of air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies not operating x-ray, EDS equipment (in accordance with point 11.2.3.3 of the Annex to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998)

 
 

Duration: 8 hours

Validity: 2 years

NOTE 4 hours in case of successful completed „Job specific training of persons implementing screening of persons, cabin baggage, items carried and hold baggage not operating x-ray, EDS equipment or security scanners“

Duration and validity depend on individual national legislative requirements.

Method of Delivery: Mixed training covering theoretical, practical and on- the-job training elements

Learning Objectives: To gain relevant knowledge and skills in order to provide screening of air carrier mail and materials, in-flight and airport supplies.  Overall awareness of other security equipment such as metal detection equipment (MDE) or explosive trace detection (ETD) equipment and how to use them safely.

objectives and organisation of aviation security, including the obligations and responsibilities of persons implementing security controls in the supply chain

Training of persons implementing screening of air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies  operating x-ray or EDS equipment (in accordance with point 11.2.3.3 of the Annex to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998)

 
 

Duration: 24 hours

NOTE 8 hours in case of successful completed „Job specific training of persons implementing screening of persons, cabin baggage, items carried and hold baggage operating x-ray, EDS equipment or security scanners“

16 hours in case of successful completed „Training of persons implementing screening of air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies not operating x-ray or EDS equipment"

Validity: 2 years

Duration and validity depend on individual national legislative requirements.

NOTE Every 6 months recurrent training in accordance   with point 11.4.2 of the Annex to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 consisting of image recognition training and testing required.

Method of Delivery: Mixed training covering theoretical, practical and on- the-job training elements

Learning Objectives: Get the relevant knowledge and skills to provide effective X-Ray threat detection duties and provide hand search of air carrier mail and materials, in-flight supplies and airport supplies. Overall awareness of X-Ray machines plus other security equipment and their safety issues. Using X-Ray equipment in a standard which allows to detect threat / prohibited items reliably.
